SeaFrance is continuing the renewal of its fleet with the arrival of the SeaFrance Molière. She will be the first ship of over 200 metres to cross the English Channel. With the arrival of the SeaFrance Rodin in 2001, and her sister-ship the SeaFrance Berlioz joining the Dover - Calais route in 2005, SeaFrance's fleet has been completely modernised.

 

SeaFrance operates three big ferries and two freighters :

 

- SeaFrance Molière : 1200 passengers, 110 trucks or 480 cars

- SeaFrance Berlioz : 1900 passengers, 120 trucks or 700 cars

- SeaFrance Rodin : 1900 passengers, 120 lorries or 700 Cars

- SeaFrance Nord-Pas-de-Calais : 120 passengers, 85 Lorries

- SeaFrance Cézanne : 78 lorries, 240 passengers or 1000 in case of the unavailability of a Ferry.

 

 

In 2007, SeaFrance transported :

- 3 733 500 passengers

- 722 600 cars

- 22 000 coaches

- 770 600 trucks.

 

Its market share of the Short Sea route is :

- 15,7 % for passengers

- 14,5 % for cars

- 12,9 % for coaches

- 20,4 % for trucks.

 

The company employs a total of 1,700 staff, including 1,200 seagoing personnel and is the largest employer in the town of Calais. Its British subsidiary, SeaFrance Limited based in Dover, employs approximately 200 members of staff.

 

SeaFrance places great importance on safety. Its crews undergo rigorous safety training and undertake regular safety exercises to ensure they are completely prepared to face any emergency situation.

 

SeaFrance is a Limited Company. Its current director is Mr. Eudes Riblier.
