You can now take your cat, dog or even your ferret to England with no need for
quarantine.
Before departure:
You will be required to meet the conditions of the Pet Travel Scheme the main points of which
are as follows:
- your pet must be identifiable by a microchip implanted under his or her skin;
- your pet must be vaccinated against rabies;
- your pet must have a blood test done at least 6 months prior to departure;
- your pet must have received an antiparasitic vaccination at least 24 hours before arrival at
the SeaFrance check-in. After 48 hours, the treatment is no longer valid.
You must have originals of the following documents:
- EU : Pet Passport
Checking in and travelling:
Due to the additional administration required at the ports, please check in at least 45 minutes prior to departure when
travelling with a pet. Please note, pets remain in your vehicle for the duration of the crossing
and access to the vehicle decks is forbidden during the crossing (for guide dogs only).
Guide dogs travel free onboard SeaFrance's ships. They are subject to the
same regulations as the other animals.
