SeaFrance Dover-Calais Ferries is proud to
announce its £10,000 sponsorship of the Kent Cricket Board’s girls’
cricket development programme, over the next three years.
Sportsmatch, a government funded scheme to support grass roots sporting
activity, is also contributing a further £8,000 to the
initiative.
The Kent Cricket Board’s primary aim is to increase the number of girls
playing as well as the number of female coaches. With the key
investment from SeaFrance the board aims to ensure that women’s batting,
bowling and cries of “howzat!” is seen and heard on every cricket pitch
across the county. The funds will also go towards coaching fees,
competition entry fees, new equipment, training courses, clothing and
taster days with a member of the England Women’s Squad.
