French ferry operator SeaFrance Dover-Calais Ferries has announced that its new ship, the SeaFrance Molière, is to be refitted at Dunkirk shipyard in preparation for its entry to the fleet in July 2008.
The £12 million refit will ensure that the SeaFrance Molière offers a quality consistent with the operator’s other superferries. The key focus of the work will be on the ship’s maneuverability, enabling it to operate easily in the docks at Dover and Calais. Also key to the new-look ship is the creation of spacious passenger areas. As with all SeaFrance ferries, the SeaFrance Molière will boast two bars, two restaurants, a large boutique shop and an exclusive space dedicated to freight and coach drivers.
Robin Wilkins, Managing Director of SeaFrance Limited, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Dunkirk shipyard on this renovation project and are confident that, through this refit, the SeaFrance Molière will increase the quality of our product and this together with our increased capacity will further consolidate our position in the cross-Channel market.”
