Molière

At over 200 metres, the SeaFrance Molière is the longest ferry operating
on the Channel. She will come into service on the Dover-Calais route in August
2008. The SeaFrance Molière has 1900m of garage space on two decks and
will carry 480 cars or 110 trucks . |

The SeaFrance
Molière left her old home at the Port of
Marseilles and
arrived at the Port of
Dunkerque on
Tuesday 8 April. She is currently undergoing a three-month refit, designed to
adapt her to the specific sailing conditions of the
Short
Sea
route.

Work began on the SeaFrance Molière on Wednesday
9 April with the installation of the ramp located at the bow of the ship. Other
work is focussed on dismantling unused cabins to create passenger areas.
Deck 7 bow
Refurbishment
work at the bow end of deck 7 is going well. Le Pub will be located in this area.
Part of the original installations, such as the bar, will be retained, and the
space will be decorated in the SeaFrance colours.

Work on the stern has been
completed and the vessel’s hull has been modified to accommodate the ramp used
to embark and disembark cars and trucks in Calais and
Dover .

Deck 5 cabins!
Cabins on deck 5 which were added by
the previous Greek owners are being dismantled to increase garage
space.

Deck 7 and 8
Further
work on decks 7 and 8 includes the addition of doors to facilitate the discharge
of rubbish.

Deck 7 stern
To create more space, parts of the
original passenger areas have been dismantled. Only a few structures, such as
the roof and partitions, have been retained in what will be Le Relais
restaurant.

Removal of the last cabins
All unused cabins have now been
removed. A door has been cut into the ship’s hull to remove the last elements
from the passenger areas.

Painting decks 3 and 5.

added in order to increase visibility at the rear of the
ship.

At deck 8, in Latitudes and La Brasserie, the carpets ans the tables
are put into place.

Furniture is installed in Le Pub at the front of
deck 7.

Work is underway in La Boutique: the lighting
and air conditionning systems are already in place.

In the kitchens, the new appliances have been delivered: fridges, washing machines and
ovens.
